1 B - Design and Purpose


In this ident there is a short sketch based around a show called the Simpsons, The Simpsons is a show that is aired on channel 4 and this ident is normally shown before The Simpsons is aired on tv. so what this ident is doing is giving the viewers a little tester per say of the show before it comes on. for those who know or have watched The Simpsons it is a very funny and silly show and in the ident, this is shown through Homer's actions which also lead to creating the 4 logos, so in a sense, at that time the ident is saying that comedy makes channel 4.
This ident is advertising the show to viewers who already comprehend what's in store for this channel and is making them more mindful of their image, but then additionally the channel that is shown to brand it as the program is known for it unreasonableness, however, engaging purposes.
the way this ident was directed and its tempo, it was put together as a short film/skit so that the viewers are already engaged so that they will want more and stay on the channel knowing that that show, The Simpsons, is next.

in this channel 4 ident as you can see it is set in the busy streets of Tokyo, but then slowly pans out to create and morph into the channel 4 logo. the idea of the ident or even the technique used in the production is very artistic and that in a way reflects the content that viewers can expect from the channel. channel 4 is known for their artistic and unusual program choices.
also, it was set at night and this ident would be shown at night time so that the viewers know that it is now night time on channel 4 and the programs that are going to be shown are going to be different.so it is an indication.
the fact that it is set in Tokyo shows a sense of diversity also, so this says that the programs are diverse and are interesting and cultural and interactive.

this ident shows what event is coming taking place in the world which is simply Christmas as you see kids glad setting taking place for the festive hours of hours of the day. the ITV logo starts to appear slowly within the beginning of the ident till fall it uses a glittery flicker effect which can be associated to the glittery aspire visceral placed around the tree symbolizing Christmas. this ident as well as gives spectators an acuteness of what is going to be seen higher in the description to in the day and what you will be currently watching after the ident.

in this ident it is set in a way to look and seem as if it is part of an action movie the way the woman comes out of the car scanning the area with the gun so it is more or less narrative based. as she is scanning the area you
