Draft Proposal

Introduction

The purpose of this report is so that you can have a gist of the vision I have in my head about something that will not only benefit me and getting my work out there but also to give your company a good name and even to increase your audience share.
I have done some primary and also secondary research in to the target audience that we are trying to get to watch the short film. I also did research into where it can be published so we can get the biggest audience share.

The main idea

My short film is a thriller about a young boy who lived a completely normal live and as soon as he turned 12 he developed a bit of a temper and gets frustrated and agitated until he switches and entires a state of pure chaos, but bec  just a faze and that it is nothing to worry about until someone gets hurt….
So ill let you find out who what and when it happens when you watch it yourself
The idea came from EastEnders character of bobby a little boy who get angry all the time and I changed it bit and made him a bit more aggressive.

Research

For my secondary research I went online and looked at the views that the story line where bobby, the character that is similar to mine, was at his worst point so I can see how popular it was and if it got people watching and keeping them engaged in the story line because I don’t want to lose the audience I’m trying to gain more views. At the time that this story line was going on in EastEnders the average view a week was 8 million + so that shows that it was quite popular and people wanted to see more and more as the views watching.

I also read about this kind of behavior from children when they are used to getting what they want and when someone finally tells them no and that they can’t have something they go over bored and starts to react in a dramatic way but depending on the child and how long the problem has been getting worse for. By putting this into my story it adds a sense of realism and shows that this is not a fictional subject but is well and truly in our society, so it also adds a moral to the film that will not be easy to clock at first but adds that artistic feel to it.

USP

The unique selling point of my short film is that it is that it is taken from a real life situation and it will seem more interesting because it happens in the world we live in today.

Rating

I would have wanted this to get a 15 rating if the bbfc where to rate it I think I would have kept in the borderlines for it.
In the primary research I did I found out that the target audience are people aged from about 18-30 year olds I retrieved this information by looking at over popular short films on YouTube the looking in the comment section at the people who are commenting on the videos and then I looked there profiles and there channels to see what kind of things they are sharing and posting so that I can see a trend in what they want to see and I saw that they loved to see some sort of twist and jump scare something that they would never thought would happen at all.

Budget

finance;i will need to buy:
  • A camera - Canon EOS 1200D DSLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm Lens. which would cost £279.99
  • A boom mic - Rode Videomic which would cost about £55.00
  • An LED light for the camera - which would cost around £49.99
  • Editing suite - which would cost about £300-500 per day so all editing should be completed in a day to save further cost being wasted \
  • studio in which to do voice over dubs - which would cost about £200 with an engineer present also should be completed in a day.
  • The Crew people operating the cameras, boom mics etc. - would cost all together about £500 a day
  • Materials things like copyrighted content like music or videos and photos shown - about £80
  • The talent because i will be using drama students i will not be spending a lot of money on them - £100

THE IDEA Is teased but not explained to the investors - the ones giving your the money you are trying to pitch to? Why would you leave this out and expect an invite to pitch?

To meet you MEG you ought to complete the above using all headings (trends included) and "present a structured and detailed media production report which conveys information and explains conclusions with clarity"

This does not explain with clarity or even convey all the information
